WHY DO A MEDITATION FOR 40 DAYS?
Yogi Bhajan gave us a very special technology relating to habits. Every single kriya or meditation in Kundalini Yoga changes us in very specific ways. If you practice a kriya a few times, you receive a wonderful benefit. But if you want to permanently change your habits, and realize the full effects of the kriya, you can practice a particular kriya or mantra every single day for the same amount of time.

We offer ongoing transformative practices you can commit to for 40 days.

Join us The Dharma Temple, or Keep up at home by utilizing the resources we have created for you.

Share your experience and inspire the global community on social media #TempleSadhana

Once you learn, test + grow from these practices + technologies, Share Them!

We are all teachers.

You will establish your own relationship with the meditations over 40 days + come to understand how they may serve your mind + soul – through your experience.

Begin your home practice by always TUNING IN with these 2 mantras:

ONG

GURU DEV

40 day Meditation March 2017

Welcome to our latest 40 Day Sadhana! Over 40 days we will be practicing the below specific practice at The Dharma Temple in Vancouver on Wednesdays + Saturdays,  but also – you can join from anywhere + can start anytime! The beauty of a 40 day meditation lies in your commitment, but with a group you have each other to keep you up. Even if you aren’t with us physically you can participate and know there is an amazing group of people elevating the vibration of this meditation. The power lies in your experience.  Keep up, and you will be kept up! If you fall off, you can always start again.

In the northern hemisphere we are on the cusp of the spring season, a natural time of cleansing + a good time to discern where you want to invest your energy to allow for the most growth. To grow, you need to have energy, and we take in energy /prana (Qi, Lifeforce) in 4 ways: Sunlight. Food. Breath + Rest.

For the yogi, we are concerned with both the quantity + quality of prana we are taking in.  When we can refine + command the prana we become the master of our environments + our lives.

Do the following as a daily practice + see what happens!

Tune In.

3 min long deep breathing (use the mantra SAT NAM on the breath. inhale SAT exhale Nam) then proceed to the mantra,

OR continue with
10 mins of exercises to wake the pranic body (surya namaskar, ego eradicator, cat/cow as some suggestions…)

11 min Pran Bandha Mantra Meditation

PAVAN PAVAN PAVAN PAVAN PARA PARAA, PAVAN
GUROO PAVAN GUROO, WHA-HAY GUROO
WHA-HAY GUROO, PAVAN GUROO

On itunes

Pran (life force) Bandha (lock) Mantra means the mantra, or sound combination, that collects, binds, and commands the life force or prana.

Read more about the importance of this mantra on our blog.

This meditation is simple mind training.  It follows a rhythmic pattern to bring the mind into single pointed concentration. Your commitment to practicing daily will cultivate fearless + reveal your divine personality.

Previous Meditations:

PARAM KARAM DHARAM KRIYA. Unite breath with movement in this simple 4 step sequence to expand our vision, broaden our perspective, evoke the courage of a warrior, and then open to receive the blessings that flow back when we act from our values + virtues.

40 Day Mantra Meditation

MAGIC MANTRA FOR MANIFESTING

Posture: Sit in Easy Pose, with a light jalandhar bandh (neck lock/ chin in)

Eyes: The eyes are closed or 1/10th open.

Mudra: Grasp the knees firmly with the hands. Keep the chest and spine lightly lifted.

Mantra: Meditate through the Brow Point on the movements of the tongue as you chant the Siri Mantra in a steady rhythm:

EK ONG KAAR, SAT GUR PRASAAD

SAT GUR PRASAAD, EK ONG KAAR

Pull the Navel Point in on EK. Release the Navel Point on KAAR. Lift the Diaphragm Lock with SAT and GUR. Release the lock on the sound of PRASAAD. This will create a wave-like motion of tension and relaxation in the torso. It will release great heat in the body.

Time: Continue for 11 minutes.

To End: Inhale, hold the breath comfortably, and relax.
